Join us for a 3 week science immersion at Kansas State University! The primary goal of our institute is to help you gain experience teaching “science as inquiry.” Work with peers to develop a science unit around soybean that addresses Common Core Science Standards and uses the scientific method. More importantly, learn how to teach “systems thinking” using soybean.
Stipend of $2000 (+lodging for out-of-town teachers), up to $500 in classroom supplies (to include iPod Touch or comparable device, plant stand, grow lights, soil, books, & classroom experiments), and becoming a better science teacher!
HOW TO APPLY: If interested, please send a brief statement of interest (what you hope to get out of the institute and why you and your classroom would benefit from this training, not to exceed 1 page), contact information (name, primary email, phone), and names of two reference teachers. Please send all materials to Dr. Brian McCornack (K-State), firstname.lastname@example.org (785.532.4729) by April 22, 2016.
